Food

Israel has a selective variety of  delicious food.
Breakfast is usually huge in Israel.  Here is an example of just one meal: Fresh juice, coffee or tea, eggs of your choice, Israeli salad, a range of cheese (both hard and soft,) freshly baked bread, olives, jam and butter. -That's breakfast!

A typical lunch is Schnitzel with different side salads, like hummus and tahini and served with rice or mashed potatoes
and vegetables.

Another lunch that is commonly served is Shawarma; grilled lamb or other meat that is sliced and served in Pita or Laffa bread

Matbucha is made from tomatoes and roasted red peppers and seasoned with garlic and chili pepper.  The name of the dish is Arabic and means "cooked salad." It can be served either as lunch or as an appetizer.

Its best to get Crepes on the streets of Jerusalem where they are freshly made! You can also get them with custard - yum!

Another good dessert is Sahlab.  It is a rich sweet vanilla hot drink and can also be served as pudding.
